In 2004, we received an invitation from VHDG to participate in an international mixed art-exhibition with the title Happy Go Lucky.
We built an installation called De Behandelkamer (which loosely translates to The Surgery or The Treatment Room). In an austere, white room, there was a single chair on a huge red spot in the middle of the room, straight in front of a giant, beamed image. On this we projected an easy to follow 10-step program to serious happyness.
Of course this was all to be taken with a fair pinch of salt. Each step was a funny clip with a simple theme, like 'memories' and 'subconscious', but also 'tittilate' and 'a singing star'. But then, taking things with a fair pinch of salt does lead to an increased state of happiness, doesn't it?
It's hard to show the installation on a website, so we won't. There's a few images below, but we're afraid you'll have to drop by and watch the DVD at our place if you want to ever get any bit of a real impression for the project.
